12 September 2014 – Orbitz directly connected

We are happy to announce that we just passed certification with Orbitz a world leading global online travel company which owns a portfolio of consumer brands that includes Orbitz (www.orbitz.com), CheapTickets (www.cheaptickets.com), ebookers (www.ebookers.com), HotelClub (www.hotelclub.com), RatesToGo (www.ratestogo.com), MrJet (www.mrjet.se) and Asia-hotels.com. Our powerful 2-way connection will enable the hotel to manage all rates, inventory and availability from its Colibri Property Management System and to receive reservations directly into its Reservation Board.

Direct connect allowed us to reduce your channel management fees by eliminating an intermediate tier between your hotel and Orbitz. As a side benefit it makes the reservation gathering, availability and price update a bit faster, more stable and secure because bites of the information should not go through an extra step in the Hotel <-> Orbitz connection.

11 August 2014 – Version 3.9.3.7 released

We glad to announce a great upgrade to our allotment module. The main feature is an ability to hold your inventory for only commission-free booking channels. Thus until release date, which you could specify in hours until check-in date, all booking channels will receive zero or limited availability. In other words your rooms will be bookable only or mainly on your website, via reservation board or via our commission-free colibribooking.com portal. Then on release date all available rooms will be automatically released to all other connected booking channels.

Added ability to reinstate canceled bookings, mark bookings as no-show, rollback checkout and other useful options to switch reservation status manually.

13 May 2014 – Version 3.9.3.4 released

Depending rates were added. So now you can specify a rate factor and all depending rates will be automatically updated when you update default rate.

We have reopened our price management wizard. Previously we were needed to shut it down due to critical bug. With the current version we spent tons of time for QA to make sure it’s working as it supposed to be. So with the price wizard it’s much easier to update price or restrictions (length of stay and no check-in/out days of the week) on certain date for selected room category.

31 March 2014 – Version 3.9.3.3 released

Last several months we had absolutely no time to update you. After we passed booking.com certification we were very busy with switching our existing customers to direct connection. This already helped them save their money on intermediate channel managers. Also we signed up couple large customers and were working on their custom multi-property booking engines. So now we know how to make it in responsive design. Finally new customers want new directly connected channels and we are currently in the middle of that long process.

However, we are not swamped and still pushing forward. Here’s some good news we proud to share:

Due to high demand from our customers who manage apartments we established 2-way connection to Airbnb. So Colibri syncs availability and prices and, of course, getting reservations (including pre-requests, which appears in PMS as pending reservations and waiting for approval). Unfortunately Airbnb has no external API so we are currently using scraping. This means our script emulates user actions when updates prices or when fetching reservations/updates/cancels (availability syncing via automatically generated calendar file). This way of integration is not very reliable and requiring lots of support. So we are very hope Airbnb will hear us and lots of other voices and will open their external API soon.

For newly connected customers we created ability to load all their existing reservations from the booking.com, so it’s no longer necessary to load reservations manually. The same feature for our other directly connected channels (Expedia, Agoda, Hotel.de and Airbnb) will be added shortly.

Simple allotment module has been added. It will be expanded in frames of long-promised Agency module.

We know that our first image organizer was overloaded by features so it was very hard to use buggy piece of crap. We made completely new organizer. We took out most of rarely used features, made much more friendly user interface and added nice features like ability to describe photo or filter photos to see only untagged images.

17 September 2013 – Direct connection to Booking.com

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have established a powerful direct 2-way connection to Booking.com – a number one online hotel reservation service with a widest customer reach. Presently Booking.com offering almost 300,000 hotels and accommodations worldwide, and generating thousands of hotel bookings each day. The impressive fact is that more than 50% of European online hotel reservations made via Booking.com.

This solution will enable the hotel to manage all rates, inventory and availability from its Colibri Property Management System and to receive reservations directly into its Reservation Board.

Direct connection allows us to lower the channel management fees by removing an intermediate tier between the hotel and the booking portal. As a side benefit it makes the reservation gathering, availability and price update a bit faster, more stable and secure because bites of the information will not go through an extra step in the Hotel <-> Booking Site chain.

Currently we charge just $5 per property per booking site per month for directly connected sites. Thus it’s probably the best offer on the market.

Additionally to the Booking.com, Agoda, Hotel.de, Expedia, Hotels.com, Hotwire, Venere and Oktogo.ru we will keep adding more direct connections to major booking channels. However, we are not stopping maintenance of current channel management partners such as BBLiveRate, Hotel Spider, AvailPro and Cultuzz and even adding new channel management partners.

26 August 2013 – Version 3.9.3.2 released

The goal of all properties is to reach one hundred percent occupancy on high demand days and not to undersell the property simply because of cancellations and no-shows. We have added overbooking management which helps to sell more rooms than are available during a peak period in order to get closer to 100% occupancy.

It’s very important to get feedback from your guests. Now it only takes a few moments to reach out to recent visitors with a customized request for a review. You can personalize the message and let guests know that their feedback is valuable to you. Colibri sends an automatic follow-up email with a Write a Review link to make it easy for guests to respond. After review submitted guest will be redirected to your Internet Booking Engine.

Our new Sales by Country report will help your marketing department to understand better who your customer is and how to make him even happier.

Finally we improved speed of the Reservation Board and List of Reservations and fixed couple dozens of small issues.

Also umlauts will be replaced with closest 7-bit ASCII equivalent. For example if guest name is “Melinda Dušan” it will appear in the message as “Melinda Dusan”.

Fixed bugs in our new pricing wizard and added color coding to the price/availability grid. Please note this is still beta!

Fixed a several minor issues and improved performance and general stability.

Also we have added ability to setup a cap for the tax fee. For example in Barcelona there is a tourist tax from €0.65 to €2.25 per person per day, but with a maximum of 7 days.
